C4C Special Announcement

November 16, 2021

Ilia DelioDear Friends of C4C,

Life is a spontaneous flow of events, and one can never quite predict the critical points of transition or the factors that enkindle them. Last week our beloved Executive Director, Greg Hansell, informed me that he accepted a new position at a financial firm, where he has been working part time. As we know, Greg is extremely talented in many areas, and his technological expertise has become a game-changer for his new firm. Needless to say, they made him an offer he could not refuse. As a husband and father with young children, Greg’s concern for the welfare of his family is paramount; his decision to accept the offer was based on providing a stable financial future for his family. Hence, I accepted his resignation with a heavy heart, yet, happy for Greg in his decision, as he pursues new adventures and continues to use his talents in new ways.

There is no doubt that Greg brought the Center for Christogenesis to a new level of growth and outreach. In three short years, he revised the website and grew the web traffic exponentially. His enthusiasm for the various programs, his personal outreach to contributors, his organizational skills and tireless efforts to move the organization to a place of real growth, are beyond words. He often put in long hours, stretching his time far beyond his compensation. He truly is a remarkable person and, I have no doubt, will succeed in his future endeavors.

True to Greg’s level of commitment, he will remain with us into the next year, as we complete our December events and the annual conference, which will take place January 21-23, 2022. We will begin the search for a new Executive Director soon, as Greg will be transitioning out of his position effective March 1, 2022.

We wish Greg every blessing for health, happiness and success; and we will miss his enthusiasm, energy, and abundant streams of knowledge. If you have a chance to drop him a note of thanks, I am sure he will appreciate it.

The Cappadocian Father, Gregory of Nyssa, wrote that “every end is a new beginning, and every arrival, a new departure.” As Greg brings his time at the Center for Christogenesis to a close, we await the dawn of new leadership and a new beginning, for with God there is no past, only future, and the future is always the promise of new life.

Peace,

Sr. Ilia Delio, OSF
