Evolution of LOVE IN CHRIST has been a powerful inner force in my daily life. THANK YOU for being a presence in my way of understanding how to live LOVE joyfully in my old age.

Ilia’s ability to translate for the average person, unfamiliar with Teilhard and the primary literature is a gift to the church. Many concepts like axial age, christogenesis, even alternative and more progressive readings of well worn biblical passages is a translational abiliity few have. She is a treasure and I am grateful.

Dear Ilia, Your gift of insight is prophetic and your hopes and desires for a “New Church” for our time and beyond is certainly challenging. But, beyond equality of gender and removal of old ecclesial structures, what structures or ways of living and worshiping would you promote in our day and beyond? Where do you worship now? How do you reflect the love of God beyond your writing? From a man of hope, Myrt

Love trumps fear and kindness counts. We can cultivate kindness and help create a culture of kindness. The pledge, “I commit to kindness, mindful kindness,” and other intentions are rewiring my brain and changing my life. Be the blessing, be the light. Pause, breathe, choose. Choose kindness, mindful kindness. Namaste.

Just found this website. Trying to catch up. It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thank you, thank you.

Ilia, your courage is admirable. I believe and hope that the morphogenic fields of higher conscious and evolution like Christogenesis will eventually form and become the critical mass that leads to change. I see that embodied in you.

A love letter to Ilia and Peirre Teilhard de Chardin

    Dear Ilia,
I am so grateful to have found your books, your website, the Omega community and you, the prophet.

Of course none of this was accidental. It all started with a car accident on my 21st birthday in 1968. I was driving alone at night, back to my job as a junior housemistress in a rural boarding school in Australia. Only my knee was badly injured in the accident but when I regained consciousness in the ambulance, I was aware of a terrible pain in my chest (bruising from the impact against the steering wheel before seat belts) as I struggled to breathe, it crossed my mind that I might be dying. I remember clearly thinking ‘what did the nuns teach us to do when one is dying?’. I was feeling pretty panicky by now and said the ‘Our Father’ as I was praying I relaxed with great relief because I knew from that moment (since never waived in my whole body conviction), that I actually, after all that teenage angst and doubt , did believe in God and more importantly that he/she believed in me. It was the greatest birthday gift I could have wished for . However it took about 15 years of ‘unfolding’’ to recognise the giftedness of this experience.

The freedom of discovering that “faith” is not a noun but a verb of growing and becoming has given me licence to come and go, explore here and there, on and off. From Liberation theology, to the feminist project, sojouning with protestant friends and projects in social justice and ecological activism to Francis’ Laudato Si, the testament in scripture and finally home to the cosmic Christ and Teilhard de Chardin.

Recently I get quite giddy, or ‘tipsy’, in awe and wonder at evolutionary creation and sometimes can cry at the privilege of being part of it. When I see an ant, busy about its business, or a weed struggling between the paving stones, I say to them,’even to be one of you would have been a great gig in this universe!, but to be chosen to be human through chance and natural selection, at this time of internet and DNA, to live in this country of security and more than my needs, to be a woman, a mother, grandmother and to have reached this consciousness of ’ unbearable wholeness’ and all that that means takes my breath away, like a car crash!

Just one question. I don’t believe in “supernatural” any more. Is that heresy? The more I read about evolutionary biology and ponder on its implications for an evolutionary chistology, the more it seems to me that from the sub atomic to the cosmic scale, natural creativity, interconnectivity, communication networks, diversity, regeneration: have it all in hand. Thus the concept of ’super-nature’ is a tautology.

I hope humanity can redeem itself, so that homo sapiens can continue to evolve into communities of healing and peace, but if not, then the infinite impulse will mourn the suffering and loss, but life is’ immortal and love is eternal’ (Bede Jarret)

Resurrection goes on in the now, on the cusp of creating the future.

Many thanks for your website. People like me need your company and inspiration.

    Patricia

I have been watching Ilia’s talks and reading her writings quite often. Last year I interviewed Mary Evelyn Tucker and John Grim in Beijing while they were here for an international conference. In that interview we also talked a lot about Ilia’s great works not only through the Christogenesis Center, but also though her teaching and writing. One young student name Liu Zheng is planning to do a fellowship with Ilia when the Covid-19 pandemic is over; he has been in touch with me very often sharing his ideas. Hope to be able to communicate and interview Ilia as well in the not distant future!

the attached web link is to a letter from a well-known Christian activist in South Africa published in a fine journal for positive and effective change in this country.
i believe this letter to be absolutely consistent with the views and hopes of the Omega Center and all our aspirations for a new Church,

Whither the Christian church? In search of a ‘new normal’ (without the pointy hats)

I am so grateful for the new insights every day
the conference helped me to realise that , whereas we are a small flock, we do have the hi=wire of the Spirit in our hand’ and in our hearts.
This is the great I AM’ we’re dealing with who is dealing with us, it’s so exciting

  • Carol Roberts

Reading here today gives me sweet peace. These writings validate an internal fire that I have tried to quench so many times over many years. Yes, I have hope for the good that can come from our current distress. That we can come together and become more whole as a world.

Ilia…imagine me sitting in a little adobe house here in a Zapotec pueblo where we have been 18 yrs as Lay missioners.
I am listening to everything I can find on YouTube as you explain the new paradigm for this axial moment in our ongoing evolution. I listen many times because it is a new language and I am 81. I just want to give you a big hug because you put it all together and help me also to understand better Teilhard whom I love and hope I didnt misspell his name. I pray for you and all this hope in the midst of chaos which will move us on. Thank you

  • Katherine Gulotta

“Your statement that “Christ does not only belong to the Jesus of history” made my heart leap with joy, resonating a truth of my prayer. I am grateful beyond words for your work.”

  • Michael Smith

“Thank you for your thoughtful words and time Sr. Ilia. I’ve been uncomfortable with my incomplete life for my entire life and have never had the words to name that feeling. It explains a lot. Thank you.”

  • Angela Radford

“Exciting? The message is electrifying. Ilia is an extraordinarily gifted conduit/messenger. I am blessed to be on board and participate, even so meagerly, in the work of expanding and strengthening the outreach of this net(work).”

  • Diarmiud O’Murchu

“An American Franciscan Sister, Ilia Delio, a theologian at Villanova University, is now emerging as the single finest exponent of Teilhard’s vision and its relevance for science and cosmology in the twenty-first century.”

  • Brian Swimme

“In my own view, Ilia Delio’s work presenting Pierre Teilhard de Chardin’s vision shows us the most significant pathway we can travel toward a vibrant and beautiful Earth Community. With both passion of the heart and brilliance of the mind, Ilia presents a vision that combines science and spirituality. Her work is rare and precious achievement. She is one of the planetary leaders of our time. The more extensive the reach of her work, the better chance the Earth Community has for a beautiful future.”

  • Maureen A Foltz

“Your gift these years of EXPRESSING what is being lived is a source of life-giving energy to so many. Thank you for your faithfulness to the task!”
