All things, including humankind, were originally created whole, symmetrical, and undivided. God admired his incarnational work, declaring that it was “very good” (very God). There were no divisions or splits of any kind then, not between sacred/profane, natural/supernatural, good/evil, left/right brain, etc. All splits, divisions, and perceived dualities came later, and have their explanatory roots in the four lies/deceptions that befell humanity (Genesis 3:1-5), compounded by the cultural and language confusion at Babel. The whole of humankind, individual and collective, has suffered divisively ever since. The only healing remedy is the spiritualization of consciousness, restoring the functional wholeness of disordered human thought, perception, and behavior. This remedial solution was God’s idea, not humanity’s. Yet the latter continues trying to “make a name for themselves” (Gen. 11:4) by building its own whole-making tower to heaven via economic, social, and political means. This, under the technology aided banner of globalization, an 80’s academic buzzword that became universally embraced by the mainstream media. Though a step in the right direction, it calls for a word of caution: as with any power, any inter-connectivity, especially that enhanced by technology, can easily run amok devoid of God-ordained, spiritualized energy as its core. There can be no global salvation by any other means, fueled by any other energy.
Ilia’s generalization must be recognized as true as well as regrettable. On the other hand, creativity originating in the left brain (or the soul, or the Holy Spirit) is greatly valued and more widely honored today than in past generations, in my opinion. What follows from this apparent trend would be determination to cultivate left brain action more in schools and homes (and church settings) than in the past. In my experience with some contemporary teachers, the present is good on that score and likely to grow better.
My prayer/mantra has been being open in my heart to “the Sacred Process of the Loving Oneness of the Eternal Present Moment”….
