Why Technology has Hijacked the Soul
Event Description
“Blessed be you, mighty matter, irresistible march of evolution, reality ever newborn; you who, by constantly shattering our mental categories, force us to go ever further and further in our pursuit of the truth.” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
We live in a volatile world where catastrophic events seem to happen spontaneously and ever more frequently. All sorts of reasons are given to explain our global breakdown but, in a Teilhardian perspective, there is only one principal reason: the breakdown of thought. Our information-driven world has reduced us to algorithms and hijacked our ability to think, to perceive what is true and good. We’ve been hacked. Is there a way forward? We will discuss the relationship between religion, evolution and technology to better understand that we are suffering a crisis of soul, and will not recover until we can freely transcend toward more life.
