Making the Choice for a Deeply Personal God with Ilia Delio
Event Description
Is Christianity unique among world religions? Is it a secular religion compared to other transcendent religious paths? Does Christianity depart from axial religions and form a new trajectory of religious consciousness? This talk will focus on Christianity as a mutation of consciousness, a breakthrough in awareness of the experience of God. We will focus on the stories of Jesus of Nazareth, his experience of God, and the human person as the tabernacle of divinity. The ideas of Carl Jung and Teilhard de Chardin on individuation and personalization will be discussed, and the relationship between religion and evolution will be engaged. It is time to consider that Christianity was never meant to be a new institutional religion but the depth and meaning of personal and collective consciousness. That is, Christianity is a religion of evolution.
