Donald Wayne Viney is a professor of philosophy at Pittsburg State University (Kansas), where he has been since 1984. His first major was music, at Colorado State University, but he eventually turned to something much easier: philosophy. He has degrees in philosophy from CSU (BA, with an emphasis in religious studies), and the University of Oklahoma (MA and Ph.D).
His publications are in the area of philosophy of religion with many of them exploring the life and ideas of Charles Hartshorne, Jules Lequyer, and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin. He retains an active interest in music.
Professor Viney lives in Pittsburg, Kansas with his wife, Maeve Cummings, a professor of Information Systems at PSU.
