The Heart of Matter: A New Paradigm
“As new insights arise that no longer fit the prevailing paradigm, they give birth to a new paradigm, which emerges over time. The new paradigm is not just an extension of the old, but a completely new worldview.”
Ilia Delio, The Not-Yet God: Carl Jung, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and the Relational Whole, Ch. 1

“A medida que aparecen nuevas ideas que ya no encajan en el paradigma vigente, surge con el tiempo un nuevo paradigma. Este nuevo paradigma no es una simple extensión del viejo, sino una visión del mundo completamente nueva.”

God is complete. Creation is incomplete. Evolution is an enlightened belief to understand the ascendent changes in the universe (e.g. cosmosphere, biosphere, mindsphere, Christosphere). However, the intellectual concept of a rising and directed creation is not practical enough to inspire most people. Something more obvious is needed. Any ideas?
It was with great excitement that I read the title of Ilia’s new book. My name is Joy Ryan Bloore and I first met Ilia in Christchurch, New Zealand some years back. I am also a Jungian analyst who trained in Zürich. I approached Ilia during the Conference in Christchurch and asked her if she knew anything about Carl Jung. She said she didn’t think so and during the conversation I gave her the name and details of a Canadian Catholic Priest and Jungian Analyst, the late John Dourley who had spent his life at the interface of Catholicism, Jungian psychology and the insights of Teilhard de Chardin and who was a University Professor. I am so looking forward to reading Ilia’s new book.
Dear Joy
A Joy to hear your “voice”. I would love to connect with you again. Love and blessings

Simplicity is a puzzle of subtle and complex design. There is only one main power source in your home, running many appliances. Likewise, the best paradigm (synthesis) will show how there is only one power in the universe, with many apps — physical, intellectual, philosophical, spiritual, etc., ad infinitum. “All power in heaven and earth is given unto me,” said Jesus (Matt 28:18). Not exactly rocket science.
Thanks, Mr. Marsh. I agree. The “out-dated” thinkers include our own family and friends and even pastors. I find Richard Rohr’s book The Universal Christ to be an attempt to explain a bigger God, bigger than the fall redemption narrative we learned. Rohr urges readers to be patient and sit with their impatience if there are things they don’t understand because this IS so new. By the end of the book, those thinkers might understand more or they might not, but we still love them. After all, this larger God that some now see, probably won’t be the final adaptation of humankind’s understanding and attempts at an explanation of God. Larger understandings will always be needed because the human mind is not able to really grasp the largeness of God. There will always be more to learn and understand.
The both-andness of Ilia Delio suggests that there is room in the big picture for those who see only part of it, a part which many scientists regard as outdated. The less advanced thinkers and believers must be loved and respected rather than pitied and abandoned. Now is complicated, though the future attracts with gleaming simplicity.
