How Does Our Sacred Story Affect Our Call To Justice?

To create the world that Jesus talked about, it is necessary to have a new understanding of the sacred story.
Faith activists are engaged in the critical and absolute necessary work of rooting out and changing the systemic injustices so entrenched in all of our systems. Many self identify as “Matthew 25 Christians.” They often use Catholic Social Teachings and Biblical quotes from Isaiah 58 and others to support their work.
In a world that is filled with suffering and pain it is comforting to believe in a story—a theology—that God is always there, interceding on behalf of the faithful. A theology that teaches that the ultimate goal is to go to a better place. But is this a theology that can truly bring about justice and peace? Or, in order to bring about the necessary change and create the world that Jesus talked about, is it necessary to have a new understanding of the sacred story.
Join us online on February 25th for an exciting conversation with Patrick, where we will a explore a renewed sacred story for a more just world.
