Leaning into Lent: The Posture of Spiritual Renewal
A Lenten Retreat by the Franciscan Sisters of Washington, DC
We know about “doing” Lent through prayer, fasting, and alms giving, but what might Lent be “doing” to us? This Retreat Day invites us to explore and re-imagine the ways God calls us to spiritual renewal and transformation throughout the journey of discipleship.
The day will include two conferences, Eucharistic Liturgy, Reconciliation and Common Prayer, and time for reflection and private prayer.

Retreat Leaders:
Sister Charlene Diorka, SSJ, is a Sister of Saint Joseph of Philadelphia. She currently serves as the Director of the Collaborative Leadership Development Program. She’s been an educator in both elementary and high school and enjoys being a life-long learner. She has served her community both as Director of Vocations and Director of Formation. She values finding God in all things and enjoys journeying with others as they deepen their spiritual life.
Father Kevin DePrinzio, OSA, is an Augustinian Friar of the Province of St. Thomas of Villanova. He has served in campus ministry at both Merrimack College and Villanova University outside of Philadelphia. He was also vocation director and served as a member of the initial formation team for his province. He holds a doctorate in Christian Spirituality and currently is Assistant Professor in the Department of Theology & Religious Studies at Villanova University.
